Review: Cast shines in Trustus’ ‘Menagerie’

A few things one should know about “The Glass Menagerie” at Trustus Theatre:The 1946 play by Tennessee Williams is a masterpiece that has stood the test of time.The Trustus staging is beautiful, well-acted, moving.The theater’s production has an African-American cast.This last point doesn’t change a thing about the previous two. It makes sense in every way; this production isn’t a bit different from any other good production of the play. Here and there one might read race into it, but that occurs in a mostly subconscious way and adds to it, rather than detracting or distracting.
